More poetry...

Anyone know why someone who isn't a big poetry fan would be so attracted to poetry all of a sudden?  This is another one that landed in my lap the other day that really touched me.  Yes, it's only a snippet.  Still, my soul says a big YES!

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
   Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each tomorrow
   Find us farther than today.

Poetry

I am not the greatest poetry fan in the world.  In fact, there are very few poems that I resonate with or respond to.  This one happens to be one of them.  One of the recent ARTbundance Coach trainees reminded me of it in a workshop she conducted.

The Road Not Taken
by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
