Computer virus warning!

I really hate it when computers die unexpectedly. My last backup was on Sunday (a week ago), so if anyone has sent an email over the last week to Pilisa at YourCreativeGateway dot com since last Sunday morning, it's now gone. I've spent the last 36 hours reloading my system from scratch and restoring the majority of my files.  This is not what I had planned for this weekend!

The virus wiped out Norton and all of it's files (including the backup of all of my usernames and passwords that it stores for me), plus all of the restore points on my hard drive, so I had to reformat the drive and reload everything from the original system disks.  Now I have to go in and reload all of the programs that I had installed.  Luckily, having been a computer geek for a long time, I've learned long ago to backup my data every week, so the loss of data is minor.  Still, I really hate having to find and reload all of my bookmarks and remember usernames and passwords for everything.

I had downloaded some social media extensions to Firefox that had quite a bit of user reportage, so I thought they were safe.  Since those are the only things that I've downloaded in the last week, one of them must be the culprit.  However, since they were all really new (only a day or two before the crash) I don't remember the names of the 3 of them to warn you about them.  Sorry, I really wish I could.

In the meanwhile, do update your computer's virus detection software and don't download any Firefox extensions for at least a few days to give the major virus companies a chance to catch up with whatever hit me.  You've now been warned...
